Health Services

Welcome to the Anthony Health Office

If your student is sick and you’re unsure if you should send them to school, feel free to call us. Our general guidance is as follows:

Stay home 24 hours after the last episode of fever, vomiting or diarrhea

If covid or flu +, stay home until 24 hours fever-free (without needing fever reducing medication). For COVID, we then recommend masking for the following 5 days

If your student has a vaccine preventable illness, please call the health office asap (whooping cough, chicken pox, measles)

If your student has contacted you directly to say they are sick and need to be picked up, please tell them to go to the health office so we can evaluate them and communicate with you.

If you have any significant health updates or concerns, or your student needs medications during the school day, please contact us

School Based Clinic at SWHS

Anthony students can get these services at any MPS School Based Clinic

Minneapolis School Based Clinics - City of Minneapolis

How it works

The Minneapolis School Based Clinics are here for you. Our services are available to all Minneapolis Public High School students.

Most clinics offer:

  • Medical services

  • Mental health services

  • Health education

  • Nutrition education and services

  • COVID-19 testing and vaccines

Check with the clinic in your school to see the services they offer.

No cost

We do not want cost to be a barrier for students to access our services.

  • No clients will be turned away based on insurance status.

  • We do not charge clients or their parents for any medical services received in our clinics.

  • Only mental health clients who have private insurance will be requested to pay copays and deductibles. We offer sliding fee scales for mental health services.

  • If insurance does not cover the cost of the service, we will not bill you.

Confidential

Privacy matters. We follow all Health Privacy (HIPAA) requirements. We know that sometimes being in school adds another level of concern. Your business stays in the clinic.
